What is the first production test (Initial Production Inspection)?

 The first production test (IPI) is certified by UL to UL's first production of products made by the inspection process. When the new plants or existing plants have a new UL listing product categories, on the need to implement IPI. If the products subject to the IPI with the plant inspection service after listing when similar types of products, UL engineer of the ad hoc exemption may be the product of the IPI.

 During the IPI, UL tests representative of the products concerned by the implementation of the comprehensive inspection and testing services after the inspection process and the general process of the same. If the product complies with the inspection process after the service requirements, UL tests representative will be the label affixed to customers in the follow-up products. (IPI is not additional charge, but only by FUS inspection fees)

 The IPI and other plants the same test, the main difference is that IPI is UL tests representative of the prior arrangements with customers, rather than the surprise inspection. In addition, because UL tests representative may not be familiar with the products and factories, the IPI may be time-consuming than the test.
